Ladies Lunch: The Architect and the City - CANCELLED

Wednesday, 27 Jun 2018

Claymore Room, 11.30am

Member $20.00/Guest $25.00

Hosted by the British Council

“To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history, but to articulate it.” — Daniel Libeskind, American architect

Join us for a journey into the world of Asian architecture in this session from the British Council’s popular Cultural Conversations series. Learn about the history of one of Southeast Asia’s most important architectural periods and the relationship its architect had with his own city. Discover the long forgotten buildings and monuments of a bygone era in architecture and how they mirrored societal values and political history, and reflect the influence of other cultures. Converse and reflect on how architecture can both revolutionise and destroy a city.
